in a very exclusive club!
I received a copy of the reedition of David Prowler's A Telegram from Marcel Duchamp (2026) in Friday's mail--a gift from the author himself. About a couple months ago I told Prowler I purchased a copy of A Telegram from Marcel Duchamp's first edition (1990) because I was reading Thierry de Duve's Duchamp's Telegram at the time and didn't know what to think about two book's about Duchamp having virtually the same title. It turned out that A Telegram from Marcel Duchamp (1990) is a delightful and inspiring little book, has nothing at all in common with de Duve's Duchamp's Telegram, and, as Mme. Marcel Duchamp is on record of having said, "I liked it very much."
I messaged David a thank-you today, and told him, "I haven't taken the time to compare the two editions, but you and your book(s) are (in my mind so far at least) a part of Duchamp After Unbekannt--especially the coincidence of Kiesler "popping-up" in our respective Duchampian interests, plus what seems to be our shared fondness of ephemera." To my surprise the two editions of A Telegram from Marcel Duchamp are the same book while at the same time two different books--I'm thinking, "How Duchamp-double-take can you get?!"
David messaged me back: "I hope you like the book. It is selling well but just at MoMA--they ordered 70 copies. I sold 15 today here in Paris. So far, you are in a very exclusive club!", to which I replied, "Wonderful! I wake up everyday in quest of exclusivity! lol"

Sorry for posting the same image again, but I want to add one more thing about it: there is not a single curved line within the entire image; the whole image is composed of individual straight lines.
