Writes to Roché at Saint-Robert recounting his visit [23.8.1954 J to see the Arensberg Collection in Philadelphia, where "everything is in place: the large glass of Katherine Dreier is positioned right in the middle of an enormous room... It was an extremely sticky operation to install it [19.7.1954J... Brancusi is alone in a large room," explains Marcel, "with about twenty of his things."
Announcing his intention, if their finances permit, "to go for two months to France with Teeny," Marcel asks Roché if they can borrow his apartment in Boulevard Arago, which would be more central "for tourists" than staying in Neuilly with the Crottis or in Puteaux with the Villons.

Marcel has never received his copy of Les Machines Célibataires [15.4.1954J from Michel Carrouges, but has ordered a copy from Wittenborn and promises André Breton to send him a few lines about the book as soon as he has read it. He requests Breton to send him a copy of Jean Reboul's text if it has been published

The "Los Angeles newshawks" who managed to track down Duchamp at the Arensberg home before he returned east [16.8.1936J have their picture and article, entitled "Cubism to Cynicism", published in Time magazine. Duchamp is quoted as having declared: "My attitude towards Art is that of an atheist towards religion. I would rather be shot, kill myself or kill someone than paint again."
