printmaking, etc.
1996.05.03
In conjunction with records and printmaking, I also recently had the idea of doing artworks called Archives--composing all kinds of various scraps and false starts between homasote and transparencies and push pins, (there may also be a variation of this idea using plexiglas instead of transparencies). The interesting thing about these archives, especially if they use transparencies, is that a new image will be on the transparencies, and, therefore, I can actually plan a large part of the work. I just realized that the whole process could be very much like Hey Art... and 2 = odd in that part of the work will be premeditated and the other part will be totally spontaneous. This is perhaps one of the most fertile ideas I have had in a very long time. Now I'm wondering whether I should decide on some specific size, and make the project like some kind of series. I think the answer is that I will do a number of them at a specific size and that it will be a horizontal golden section and somehow I might also divide the transparencies into golden section fragments.
